Overnight at Abai Jungle Lodge. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Day 03 - Wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to Pitas oxbow lake to observe wildlifes and experience the unique of Pitas lake. After breakfast, an option to join our tree planting project with the locals and lunch with them at Abai Village. This project especially design to help the locals. After lunch, cruise UP river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Late afternoon, take another river cruise with electric motor to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return lodge for dinner and overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner ) Day 04 - Wake up by the calls of nature. Early AM, take a river trip to the Ox Bow Lake to observe wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience of the longest river of Sabah. Return lodge free at own leisure, late afternoon, another river cruise with electric motor to search for more wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner ) Day 05 - Wake up by the calls of gibbons or hornbills. After Breakfast, depart overland to Gomantong Birdnest Caves. Upon arrival, 15 minutes walk on the plankwalk to the cave. Explore the largest bird's nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of Bats and Swiflets. The nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous Chinese edible birdnest soup. Then, continue journey by land to Sandakan, drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay before lunch at local restaurant or hotel. After lunch, proceed to airport for your flight MH 2709 (ETD1400hrs) or AK5823 (ETD1420hrs) or your hotel. (Breakfast / Lunch)

  1. Please take note that Sabah Parks allow only camera of unaided flash to take photograph of the turtle. Video/Digital Video Camera are not allowed.

  2. Sabah Parks also forbid visitor from going around the island on their own from 6:00pm – 6:00am.

Pick up Hotel in Sandakan 8.30am or 10am  - Non-meal  then drive 45mins to Labuk Bay. 

In the centre of the mangrove forests of Semawang is the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, where you can see Borneo's indigenous proboscis monkeys. This privately-owned sanctuary located within an oil palm estate gives you the chance to observe these animals up close and personal.

The remarkable males sport big dangling noses, reddish flat-top hairstyles, white tails and markings, and pot bellies. The females on the other hand, are much smaller and have up-turned noses.

Take a night tour for a chance to see wild boars, flying squirrels, fireflies and crocodiles. The sanctuary also has a lodge with aircondtioned twin or double rooms, family chalet and dormitaries for those who wish to stay overnight.

Getting There
Travel along Jalan Labuk (heading towards Kota Kinabalu) and turn off at the SPS 3 junction at Mile 19 (adjacent to Consolidated Sabah Farms). From here, the sanctuary is a 15km further along the road.

The sanctuary also provides transfers, daytrips and overnight stays. You can also go through a local tour operator.

The walkway and towers are also great for bird-watchers to steal a glimpse of our resident Bornean bristleheads, one of the rarest birds in Sabah! Apart from that, there are
